#abdul-hamid
- Abdul-Hamid - An eponym derived from the name of Ottoman sultans (such as Abdul-Hamid II), historically used in 19th-century European and Romanian psychiatric literature to describe a typical case of political monomania or persecutory delusion combined with megalomania. In classic alienism semiology, the term qualified psychotic states where patients, dominated by extreme pathological suspicion and fear of conspiracies (paranoia), simultaneously assumed an absolute autocratic identity and harbored obsessive fears of poisoning.
