- abețadar - An old regional variant for the word 'abecedar' (primer, elementary textbook), used in Transylvania and Banat during the 18th and 19th centuries. In the context of medical history and public hygiene, the term also referred to elementary booklets or primary health guides distributed in rural schools, teaching the basic rules of body hygiene, cholera prevention, and smallpox vaccination.
- abiturient - An academic term used to denote a high school student in their final year or a graduate who is preparing for or taking the baccalaureate exam (matriculation examination), thereby gaining the right to enroll in higher education.
