#ocular refraction
- aberanță - A state, manifestation, or structure presenting a pathological deviation from the normal or physiological type. In genetics, it represents a structural or numerical anomaly of chromosomes; in neuropsychiatry, it denotes a wandering of cognitive functions or a severe thought disorder; in ophthalmology, it indicates an optical error of the eye (refractive defect) preventing a clear image on the retina.
- aberometru - A high-precision clinical diagnostic device used in ophthalmology to automatically measure and record the total optical aberrations of the eye (both lower-order aberrations like myopia and astigmatism, and higher-order ones like coma or trefoil). The device operates based on wavefront analysis, projecting a harmless laser beam onto the retina and measuring light distortions as it exits the eye, providing an essential digital map for customized refractive surgery.
