#rasina de brad
- abie - An archaic regional variant historically used in certain Carpathian zones to denote the silver fir (Abies alba) or the pure resin extracted from conifer bark. In Romanian folk medicine, ointments prepared with 'abie' (animal fat mixed with resin and beeswax) were used empirically by village healers as powerful healing agents for open wounds or as chest balms against typhus and severe pneumonia.
- abietină - A resinous substance of diterpenic nature, historically extracted from the resin of certain conifer species (especially from the genus Abies). In early pharmacognosy and 19th-century academic folk medicine, it was used as an active ingredient in formulating vulnerary ointments, anti-rheumatic plasters, or as a balsamic stimulant for the respiratory mucous membranes, due to its antiseptic and healing properties.
